Can't connect to internet

I just got this windows 7 computer to replace my XP. I want to use the XP in my shop. I have a NetgearWGR614 v4 router. The xp was connected wired. I also have a Vista laptop. Now the windows 7 is connected wired, the vista wireless but the xp won't connect to the internet. I wanted to connect the xp wireless with a netgear usb adapter. I couldn't remember the password so I reset the router so I could change password. Since then I can't get on internet with the xp wired or wireless. I still get on internet with the windows 7 and vista.
Any help appreciated

So the other computers both get online but Win XP can't connect, correct?

Make sure the XP computer has a good network cable (try another), firmly pushed into the XP network card and the other end into a LAN port.
Open a command prompt - click Start then Run, type CMD and press enter.
type Ipconfig /renew at the prompt & hit enter. Copy and paste any error message if you get one, then open a browser and see if you can get online.
If you can't get online, copy and paste the following at the command prompt ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit
Copy the contents of Notepad and post them into your next reply.

correct, only the xp won't go on line
I did the Ipconfig /renew and got the following

Windows IP configuration

The operation failed no network adapter is in the state permissiable for this operation

I did check that cable is plugged in good. I don't have another to try
Since this test failed I didn't try the 2nd

Go into Device manager: Right click on My Computer>>Properties, click the Hardware tab then Device manager. Look under Network Adapters and see if anything has a red X or ? mark next to the name of your wired network card.

If you see your network card listed, right click and select Disable, then repeat and select Enable. End result is there should be no error marks and the driver should be enabled.

I took the cable from this computer and plugged to the XP, still no workie. Brought it back to this and it works. I did a ipconfig /renew again and this time I got screen with ip address& so on but still can,t get on line. Then went to device manager-network adapters and no red X or question marks I went back to command promp and put in the long command, pressed enter and the screen just went away. I didn't put the * on each end
ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepadc:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit

It didn't look right that the notepad and c ran together so I did it again but this way.

ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad_c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit

Both ways when I hit enter it just went away, said nothing

I don't remember where but a couple places it says connected to network but not internet.

Would it do any good to reinstall windows?

Redid the long command and got this

The way notepad read cable was disconnected. I checked and it was. I redid command prompt and got this

Ok, your 2nd IPconfig_All file shows you are connected to your router. Nah, no reason to reinstall Windows... Do you have Verizon as your ISP?

Open a command prompt again and type ping google.com then press enter.
Right click in the black window and choose Select All. Then right click on the blue Title bar for the command prompt window and go to Edit>>Copy. Paste the result in your next post.

Is your LAN/Wireless adapter connected ? in network places

My isp is ATT I talked to their tech support couple days ago. They said something must be wrong with computer. In network it says connected

Open a command prompt again and type: netsh int ip reset log.txt press enter.
Type netsh winsock reset catalog press enter and restart the computer.

Open a web browser and see if you can get online. If not, go back to a command prompt and type ping.google.com and press enter
Type ping 127.0.0.1 and press enter
Let me know if you get the same result as your last post or if it completes and shows any loss.

I did the 1st command prompt, hit enter. It gave me another line. I did the 2nd hit enter. It gave me a 3rd line. I restarted and couldn't get on line.

I did ping.google.com and it said not a recognizable command or something like that.
I then did ping google.com. It sent 4 packets and lost 4. same with ping 127.0.0.1
