rebooted 5 times now (without reseting the winlock/log each time, but just once) and still media dc.

Such a douchebag NIC.

Agreed. Of course it's possible the NIC is failing.

If it's failing how come it works now and then for hours? I have no clue.

And also, some other guys on some other forums talked about irq fail. What do you think of that?

If you want to be adventurous, burn a Ubuntu Live CD. It does not interfere with your current operating system. You can see if your network card works with another OS. Make sure you select "Try It" for the live version.

Download | Ubuntu

Otherwise, I don't know how to respond to irq failure.

I didn't see--in all that you've tried--that you tried using a different cable--could simply be a bad cable--just a thought...

Hi Tman!
I've tried the other cables in the house that works with the other computers, but no luck.
Thanks for the tip though!

I'll try out that ubuntu idea later if we can't find another solution.

When the cable is not detected
Do you have a light on the network port and what colour is it?
Does the router have a light indicating a cable is plugged in?
What is the model of your pc?

Hi Duzzy and thank you for joining the thread!

There is not light at all when the cable is not detected, and when it is detected it's the usual orange and green lights.

I don't know if the router have any indications if there's a cable plugged in in a computer at that surten port. Can't find the information on the router. Don't have those usual diodes in the front, only a light indicating that the router is turned on.

The Model of my PC is: Dell XPS 420
