My Wireless card Said Enabled but isn't working

This is what i got in ipconfig. As you can see it's not detecting the Wireless LAN card. I've done everything; reinstalling drivers, reboot after reboot, I don't know what to do!
I'm running Toshiba Satlelite C655 with windows 7 64bit. my card is atheros.

I have found that some older cards (even 2 years old) do not work well with x64 installs....you could test with an x86 machine if you have one available. I had to purchase a new card due to x64 (the card does work with an x86 install however) and got a decent card for about $14 (Sabrent Wireless-G 802.11G PCI Adapter) from TigerDirect.

    B/G card: Sabrent PCI-G802 PCI Wireless Card - 54Mbps, 802.11g, Windows/Mac/Linux Compatible at TigerDirect.com

    N/B/G card: Sabrent 802.11n Wireless PCI Controller Card - 802.11n/g/b, 300Mbps, 40/64/128-bit WEP encryption at TigerDirect.com

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I was about to ask you to check your firewall settings, but you got there first.

Well done and thanks for the update as the solution may help others.
