unable to connect to the internet after restore

Pretty simple question I got. I just restored Windows 7 Home Premium and for some reason I can't connect to the internet anymore. When I run my Diagnostic Tool it says that the computer is properly set up but that the following ressource "(w w w. microsoft. com)" seems to be unrespnsive. Any clue on what it is? Drivers are up to date and network card is 802.11n Wireless LAN card from Ralink technology Corp.

    Thanks.

    Hi Juub,

From your computer's Device Manager, is there any symbol - ? X ! on the Ralink device?

Also, please post an ipconfig /all for review.
How to run an ipconfig /all?

Also when I run the ipconfig command. It says that gateway network cards are disconnected. Don't have any dhcp, they're all disabled. And my IP addresses are all 0's.

You have forgotten the ipconfig /all output.

Bump. Seems nothin got better. Anybody knows what might be the cause?

Edit: I heard I could solve the problem by assigning myself a fix ip address, which I did. Now it says I am connected to the network and have internet access but I obviously don't.

It is Sunday here in the US and we are all Volunteers, we try out best to answer each concern in the forum whenever we can post.

I have also asked you to post or attach the output for your ipconfig /all and I have never seen any.

Are both LAN and WLAN adapters saying 'media disconnected' on the ipconfig /all?

What type of AV/Security or Firewall Software do you have?

It's okay, thanks. I finally got around that. And sorry I could not post the picture you were requesting, I had no way of uploading it.

I just rebooted the comp with the assigned address, then I deactivated the LAN wireless adapter and everything started working. I'm kind of an internet noob on that. Didn't realize I had a network card for my wifi and my wired connection. Now I can log on with no problem. Thanks for your help.

No worries. Good to hear that assigning Static IP works for you. Yeah, it's hard for us not to see the output to review. Thanks for the update.
