    Can't find LAN connection

Hi guys. I'm new at this, so please have that in mind.

I've recently installed Windows 7 at my Asus MS1SN laptop, and i have some trouble connecting the internet. Even though i have plugged in a cable, i can't connect to the internet.

In the network settings, i cant't even se my Lan-connection, only Bluetooth, and Wifi are visible. At the moment we don't have our wifi installed, so my only option is via cable, or switching back to Vista, and i wouldn't prefer that.

I hope i've explained myself well, and i really hope you guys can help me.

If you have any questions or any information is missing, please don't hesitate to ask.

    /Peter

Sorry but I don't have a Laptop and don't know the best solution but sometimes when you are installing your OS it best to have the internet cable connected and it automatically sets it up for you on the install, maybe you could reinstall and try it with it connected, and sorry if it doesn't, maybe someone else has a better suggestion.

Your LAN network adapter's drivers have not been detected by Windows automatically. You need to download your LAN network adapter's drivers from another PC , put them in a USB or something and install them on your laptop.

Drivers for your laptop's network adapter can be in Asus Downloads

    Try 2 things:

    1. Run the driver executable in compatibility mode. (Right click the .exe, properties , Compatibility , Run as "Vista"

    2. Expand the contents of the driver (using e.g. WinRar) to a folder.
Then at device manager, right-click your network adapter and select Update Driver Software. Then
"browse me computer for driver software" and then
"Let me pick from a list..." and then "have disk".

At the have disk prompt, enter the path where you extracted the drivers and see if it finds anything to install.
