    Network load balancing 2 Win7 machines

    We have 2 windows 7 machines and I would like to network load balance (NLB) them.

    Can I do it in anyway ?

    The reason why I cannot use windows 2008 R2 server
    ========================
    1) This is a development/test environment

    2) This is in a corporate environment so we are only allowed to have windows 7. As per IT dept, machines with server OS need to be in server-room.

    3) We pay a per machine fee to the IT vendor and windows servers costs 6x as much as windows 7. So to keep costs down we need to use windows 7.

    Do you have two connections to the same network, or two different networks? My brief amount of reading informed me that, if the former, W7 will automatically load balance between the two.

    Frankly, I'd say you should reexamine the idea of either 1) a different IT company, or 2) actually hiring staff.

    We want to have 2 machine connected to the same network. We are trying to do what windows server NLB (network load balancing) does.

    So I guess my answer is..it cannot be done windows 7.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I found a few hits for software that would try to emulate it's functionality, but nothing that does actual NLB (I initially confused connection balancing and load sharing, my apologies).

    I was hoping to somehow install the NLB component on win7.
    I guess it cannot be done so I will close the issue.
