Okay - while you are downloading a large file like a movie, we can use this time to setup Task Manager so that you can watch the data flow into your computer.
Right click on an empty place on your task bar and select Task Manager:
Select the tab named Networking and then select Options...
...make it look like this:
...then select View > Update Speed...
...and make it look like this:
...then select View > Network Adapter History...
...and make it look like this:
Make the Task Manager window whatever size/shape that you want - then you can watch the data flowing in - it should be a yellow line on the graph.
That is pretty normal. The speed of your internet connection might not be as fast as the speed of your wireless network adapter. And sometimes, the server giving you that movie file limits how fast people can get the file so that it can save some of its bandwidth for other people that are downloading too.
Let's place a batch file on your desktop for each of the two pings that you are using. Save each of the two text files attached to this post to your desktop. Then you can just double click on them to start the pinging.
