    Hello scrambled,

Have you installed the most current driver for your network connection from the computer's website?

Hmm, then I am not sure how to fix this. What does it say when you try and troubleshoot it?

When you turn on your computer, it takes a minute to start the network connection? What happens when you put the computer into sleep mode and then wake it up?

Well, consider using sleep mode instead of turning the computer off, as it holds the benefit of a faster startup. Other than that, you may just have to wait that minute for it to load. o.0
