How do you REALLY share a printer?

I have two computers at home, one of which is physically connected to a printer. I want the other computer to be able to use that printer, too. Both computers are connected to the same wireless wi-fi.

I followed this Microsoft video to share the printer on the machine that is physicially connected to the printer. On the other machine, I selected Devices and Printer, then Add printer and clicked on Network, but I don't see the printer I shared. What did Microsoft forget to tell me to do?

I suspect that there's a step before all this to get the computers to see each other, but I don't know how to do that or even if that's the problem here.

    Thanks!
