You shouldn't need CrossLoop simply to print from one machine to another device, both residing within your network. Did you go through the steps seavixen32 had posted here: File sharing between win7 64 bit desktop & vista 32bit laptop.

The printing problem you're trying to resolve is completely independent of you deciding which internet service you want (paid vs. free).

The printing problem is solved, I can now print without that icon showing up in the win7 desktop. When I am using my laptop, it prints directly to the printer. but the 2 PC's only see each other using the paid WIFI

Great job! Glad to hear it!

Before trying to utilize that free Wifi, let me make sure I understand some things:

You say in your post, "the 2 PC's only see each other using the paid WIFI". I'm assuming here the computers are connected to that D-Link router that you own, right?

If so, that means it is your Wifi, you own it because it is provided by the router that you own, and that router is connected (with a wire) to that little box that you pay for, by the month, for internet service. Do I have that right?

All right. Now what you need is to be able to connect that "special port" on your router to another device that can get those free Wifi signals. You can buy a cheap wireless router that can be re-configured to act as a bridge or client, or you can buy a wireless extender. I'm thinking it will be easier for you to go that route. Much easier to set up.

If you live near a Best Buy, some locations have this on sale for $10 cheaper:

I live very close to a Best Buy, will look at their online site to see if they carry it, how about online sites like Newegg or Amazon?

Yeah, I think they both sell it, but I think it's around the same price. The BB here has it for $50 I think.

    Sounds good.

Another question: do you know how to get to the configuration pages of your router?
