Network adapter not found on laptop?
Hello, I came across this forum while searching for answers on google, by alas I wasn't able to find and clear answer, so I feel as if you folk over here may be able to help me.
First off, back in December I brought an ASUS G74SX-BBK9 and it was running perfectly until about two weeks ago. Two weeks ago I made the decision that I wanted to try out the beta version of Windows 8, and truth behold, I didn't really like it, thankfully I also had ubuntu running alongside so I just used that until I could get a hold of a restore dick for windows 7. A couple days later I was messing around with my computer looking to see as if I could find anything that would fix the problem and I came across a feature stating that it would restore the hard drive, and for some reason I thought that it meant it would restore it to its original state of when it had windows 7 running on it. Well, after 15 or so hours the process of it was through and I found out that windows 8 was still running strong. A couple of days later my brother finally got his computer and he gave me his restore disc, and I thought that this would solve all of my problems. This process only took about 30 minutes to an hour but after it finished and I attempt to connect to the internet it refused too, stating that it needed a network adapter, and that I should connect to the internet for information on how to fix it. It's been like that for over a week and it's getting to the point where it is pissing me off. I considered re-downloading ubuntu onto the computer though a USB drive or burning it on a CD and than downloading it via there but it wouldn't make much of a difference considering the driver is messed up.
Please,of you know how to fix this, help, please.
