I have 20 desktop computers connected to a switch, created a homegroup on one but others can't see it, instead of asking me to join, they are all still displaying ready to create. pls what is the way out.

I'd go for the title of your Thread and here's what I have found out.
Why can't I join a homegroup?
Please let us know.
You need to have the machine that created the Homegroup turned on so the other machines can see the Homegroup it created.
This assumes you are all on the same network, save default gateway, same subnet and that your A/V or third party firewall isn't creating the problem in the first place.
The Homegroup trouble shooter might help you find any other problems, everything on this list matters and needs to be checked out before hand. :)

You also need to make sure that your main pc that you crated the home group on is Windows 7 Primium or higher.
Also, starting with the main pc, change the group password to join. Just be sure to notify the other group members of the new password. Something about changing the password acts like a reset in some circumstances for Home Group. Lastly, the other pc can't be in sleep mode or hibernation mode, not even screen saver. It alsmost makes home grouping pointless.
