I did just give you instructions. :)

You just need to open an elevated command prompt like it shows in Shawn's tutorial then type ipconfig/all and hit enter then use the built in snipping tool to save the picture and post the results here. You have to click on the "Go Advanced" tab in order to post the picture.

Hmmm ok, looks like you are running Windows XP.

From what I'm seeing here you should be online.

Did you add the DNS entries into the routers settings, there should be two DNS server addresses typed in somewhere in the routers settings.

When you try to open a browser what happens?

Are there other machines using this router that can connect to the internet?

Yes this is my OLD XP desktop.. I can't seem to give it up just yet.
From what I'm seeing here you should be online.
I am on line NOW after att. tech support reset my Modem/ ISP setting, it took quite sometime to get this corrected, tech support had me to remove my router completely while they re-set the modem and my ISP settings , then the NOT connecting with the router began.
Did you add the DNS entries into the routers settings, there should be two DNS server addresses typed in somewhere in the routers settings.
Chev I think there are those setting on those router settings..I had saved when the router was 1st set up.I did peek at those .. wasn't sure if or what I should do.. if anything.
I did look at properties for my ISP .. they seem to be all set to automatic connect... I see no numbers for my ISP on any of the screens when I'm opening any settings. on one I did notice.. there was a grayed out DNS option .. I wondered if I would mess up anything if I un-ticked Auto Connect.. ticked the DNS one and tried to copy those I see on my router settings..

When you try to open a browser what happens?
If you mean a browser from the photo of my router settings.. no luck opening a browser from those, otherwise I have no problem opening up browsers.

Are there other machines using this router that can connect to the internet?

I've honestly not tried to use any of the other machines on the router since the problem started with my ISP.. I didn't want to mess up everything I have .
    TY again

This is a snap of my original router settings.
I hope these are helpful to you.
If you'll click or double click the attachment you can better see the settings.

It looks to me like the default gateway isn't the correct one for Belkin routers, it's supposed to be 192.168.2.1 but instead it's 192.168.1.254 which I believe is coming from the modem

You need to make sure the Ethernet cable from the modem is plugged into the WAN port on the router, the machine should be plugged into one of the LAN ports on the router. It looks like the actual problem is that you are using one of those combo modem/routers which isn't meant to work with a second router in the system.

    To reset the router...
Thank you for contacting Belkin Technical Support.

We understand that router is not working with Windows XP and Windows Vista.

In order to resolve the issue, we suggest that you please hard reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure the router manually.

In order to do so, please follow the steps given below:

    - Please connect the computer to the LAN port on the router and connect the modem to the Internet/WAN port, using Ethernet cables.
    - Take a paper clip and insert the paper clip on the reset hole of the router and hold it for 15 seconds.
    - The power light will flash and then come back ON solid, indicating that the router is being restored to factory defaults.
    - The corresponding lights on the front of the router should be lit up.
    - On the computer, check if you have an IP address in the range of 192.168.2.x
    - If not, specify a static IP address, gateway and DNS by following the steps at Configure a static IP address

    - Log on to the router web interface at http://192.168.2.1
    - By default, the password is blank.
    - Click on Connection Type in the left hand column under Internet WAN heading and configure the settings according to your Internet Service Provider.

The rest of this from the Belkin page here, Belkin | Support

The reset is required, you will also need to manually set up the router's wireless settings after the reset. From the picture you just posted it's as I mentioned, it seems that your modem is also one of those modem/router combo's or something because it's showing two different default gateways which is not going to cut it here.

You may need to ask your ISP for a regular modem ONLY, not a combo unit if you want to be able to use the Belkin router. If you can post the modems make and model number I can confirm this. :)

I believe that the modem wasn't plugged into the WAN port on the router. That is why I was seeing two different default gateways. It's a bit tricky diagnosing this sort of thing from here when I can't see what is plugged into what but that was my initial conclusion.

My second guess was that the modem was a combo unit modem/router but luckily that must not have been the case.

I'm glad you are up and running LadyPink. :)

Chevy hi.. My router is seperate from my modem..
ATT supplied the modem.. I purchased the Belkin Router, (Enhanced Wireless -N150, Model #F6D4230-4v1, Serial #209353018873 -Version1010.)

I may have plugged the wrong yellow connector into the Router , I know the router had to be plugged into the back of my Windows XP tower then into the router.. along with a yellow connector into the modem with an ethernet line, DSL line, power supply.
The router also has 3 line to it.Yellow wired line ,modem yellow line and the power line.( the router and modem have to talk to one another.) that's about all I know about the router.

If it is working or not..I do know it is WI-FI, it has WLAN/LAN, and other things to make it really safe and secured.
I also know my pc isn't seen on line , when I'm on line.. something about pinging.
The main thing here is I'm most greatful to you for your wonderful help to me getting it working again.
You've earned the reps I gave you much more than those I was allowed to give.
    Thanks again.:)
    LPt.. G.
