loss of internet connection on one laptop

Hi I have a Billion 7300n router accessed by 3 phones, 2 desktops, up to 4 laptops, a tablet and a desktop, and a Synology NAS

A few days ago one of the laptops just stopped accessing the internet.

On closer inspection it wasn't talking to the router. After several hours messing I got it talking to the router and other devices on the network. I did struggle to get wireless working and ended up hard coding the Default gateway to get it working while wired was fine.

However I cannot see the internet. This is the same whether I use a wireless or wired connection.

I have tried pinging URL's and IP addresses and neither work. The other laptops, Desktops and Tablet still work fine.

    Ive tried

    • reset winsock
    • reset tcp/ip stack
    • switching router on and off several times
    • updated firmware
    • disabled and enables network connection for both wired and wireless several times

I really am stuck now - as its my sons laptop I'm beginning to think virus/trojan

Hi please update the drivers for your wireless and wired NIC's

What Internet Security software do you run?

forgot to mention - all internet security software has been disabled, one of the first things I did.

Also checked the router to ensure it wasn't blocking it.

    Also checked HOSTS file

not sure how to do the drivers - i'll look into it
