Windows 7: Folder permissions hell.

Folder permissions hell.

From win 7 pro 64bit to win 7 pro 32bit or back constant problems.

Seems doing a ton of research and getting the issues solved is only as good as the next update which screws things up to where they were before.

The problem was there in xp and it has persisted. I cant believe that one of the base functions of a network is constantly broken. My network works fine. I have input director zipping over two workstations no problem. Both comps have speedy internet yet they cant swap simple files with each other because of those fracking folder permissions.

I give up, back to the zip drive, sheesh.

Folder Permissions
I took a folder - right click>properties>security> took away administrator privileges, but left my user (an administrator) still have rights. Now I can't access the folder. When I go back to the security tab it says you do not have permission to change this folder. It is a locked folder now?

Files on external drive cannot be accessed (owner + permissions hell!)
Hi there, I know similar issues have somehow been addressed elsewhere, but it seems my particular problem hasn't quite been faced by many others, so here we go: I have thousands of files on an external drive. My computer recently crashed, so I had to fresh-install windows 7 (ultimate x64)....
