    rcpclip Running at Startup

I didn't notice this a week ago but no my third party system cleaner is reporting "rcpclip" with an Application name of "StartupPrograms" running at startup. I've researched this on the internet and get the impression it's only needed if I allow desktop connections or if I have a Server & Client computer. Which I have neither. If this is a Windows process why isn't it listed in System Configuration's Startup tab??
Is there a way to disable it?

As you were told elsewhere it is an OS file and cant be disabled. You may be able to delay startup but thats it.

rdpclip.exe is the main executable for File Copy. It provides function for the Terminal Services server that allows you to copy and paste between server and client.
This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

Is there a reason you are so concerned? Is it by chance consuming resources?

Dont forget malware can masquerade as an executable.

I wouldn't know if it is hogging resources. I don;t see it listed in Task Manager. Just wondering. I have 3 anti-malware programs for scanning and 1 for real time protection.

If it is in the correct place and and show no signs of being malware it probably isnt. Still cant delete it or disable it.

    Hi James,

Rdpclip.exe is also listed under StartupPrograms on my computer and it is in my registry but the file itself is missing from my C:\Windows\System32 folder for some reason. I just found out. Somehow it got deleted, maybe I deleted it by accident(?). I do not know how long it has been missing because it does not affect anything on my system although I am not using Remote Desktop Connection. You can disable it and it is fine to disable it, as I said I do not even have the file on my system. Google rdpclip.exe and you will find instructions on how to disable it.

After doing some research I found where it runs from in the registry. I deleted the entry. Everything is running fine as far as I can tell. I've ran sfc and it found nothing. I've been running without it for some time now and see no ill-effects. But what do I know.
