Internet dies when wireless printer is turned on

Hi everyone, I just bought a cheap simple printer for the wife and i already wish i hadn't got a HP. It is a photosmart c4580, I have got the software and drivers installed ok but when the printer is on the internet drops out. I am running the printer wirelessly from a d-link g604t router and need to unplug the router and turn off the printer in order to regain internet access. tried the diagnostics and it says the dns server name is wrong. contacted HP and they tell me new drivers are coming next month but i can't wait that long.... any ideas at all?????

    regards KevO

Find the network configuration page for the printer. Change the dns to be 10.1.1.1. That your router's default address according to http://imagelibrary.gotalk.com.au/pd...SetupGuide.pdf

It should work then. Let us know how it goes.

It's probably a good idea to make sure the Bonjour service is not resident and active on any machine across your network. Follow this page to do that.

Should you require further help, please tell us the type of connection you have from your isp (cable, dsl) and how do you get internet access to your router (cable modem?, dsl modem?, lan cable connected to wall in apartment?) I would have you change the dns address of your g604t to the default address of this cable or dsl modem.

One step at a time. Either I or someone else will be able to help you fix this. :)
