    Wireless regularly loses connection

This started happening recently, right after I started using a LAN cable from my router to my laptop. When I decide to use wireless, the connection regularly drops (the network icon and status are showing it's still connected though). Diagnosing it via Windows Network Diagnostic usually fixes the problem (only for a few minutes before it drops again).

This doesn't happen only in my house though, I lose my wireless connection at my friend's house and on public wifi. So I think it might be a problem with my adaptor. How do I fix this?

Installing the latest WIFI driver for your Acer should work provided that you have your router set up for WPA2 security and AES encryption which usually work best with Windows 7. Be sure and change the wireless profile in Windows to reflect any changes made to your routers wireless settings.

Also be sure and install the correct driver type for your wireless NIC, either Atheros or Broadcom.

I'd have to see a screen shot of your ipconfig/all in order to spot any other potential problems.

It might be worth while to scan for the clearest possible wireless channel in your area. Xirrus WIFI inspector works well for this. http://www.xirrus.com/Products/Wi-Fi-Inspector :)

Thanks for the helpful reply, but I've already found out what was causing it. I remember downloading Hamachi and that apparently mixed up the connections or something. Uninstalling it immediately fixed the problem. Thanks anyway! :)
