    Websites refuse to load

Hello all, I'm having some weird problem - probably caused by a virus or something. Anyway, I have scanned my computer, with 2 different Anti-Trojan applications, both found many infected items and removed it. now everything seems to be cleaned. Thing is, while trying to load google.com or bing.com - both sites wont load - it just hangs. I tried from 3 various browsers. When I put both sites IP addresses in the host file - it works! How can I get rid of this hassle??? Thanks in advanced. Nir.

It might be a DNS cache error. Copy the following into Notepad, and save to the desktop as "Flush.bat" minus the quotation marks.

    @Echo on
    pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    attrib -h -s -r hosts
    echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
    attrib +r +h +s hosts
    popd
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
    netsh winsock reset all
    netsh int ip reset all
    shutdown -r -t 1
    del %0
Right-click the bat file and select "Run as Administrator". Your computer should automatically restart. If not, restart it.

Never hurts to check to be sure that no viruses remain. If yuu have not done so already, download, install, update and run Malwarebytes Antimalware.

    Thanks for your reply Petey7.

Unfurtuently, it didn't seem to solve the problem.

    Any other ideas?

one more thing, I tried defining a static IP, while adding additional DNS server - Google's - and it works. Meaning, it's a pure DNS problem. Hope that helps in something..

Can you please confirm that you successfully created and ran the bat file I instructed you to? I ask because your reply was very unspecific.

Also, open command prompt. Type "ipconfig /all" without the quotation marks. Copy what you see and paste into you next reply. I may ask someone a little more knowledgable in networking to step in if I can't spot the problem.

Yes, I ran the batch file, it completed successfully and again, it didn't help.
