    Missing Network Card

Hello, I have an odd problem that I hope someone can solve.

I recently installed an internal USB 3 card for the front two slots of my computer. After the installation, my power supply died. I bought a new power supply and got that installed, but had some issues booting due to some hard drive mix-ups. After getting that all sorted out, I found that my network card (integrated into the motherboard, a X58 Sabertooth) is gone. Completely. There are no ! or ? in the device manager. I even went out and got a cheap network card and installed that, still nothing. The new hardware doesn't even show up in the device manager, with no ! or ?

I've reset the BIOS, updated it, pulled out the battery, disabled/re-enabled the LAN in the BIOS... I've looked at other threads on the internet with missing network cards but most of them are standard driver issues. That is not it in my case. It is completely invisible, with nothing showing up.

Where you using a anti-static wrist band during all the hardware changing? It could very well be that some static discharge has fried it. How about a restore point to a time before the issue started happening. Or you could try a complete reinstall of your OS.

Other than the network portion, my motherboard is running fine. It still doesn't explain why the new network card isn't showing up either. I was hoping to avoid an OS re-install until all other options were exhausted.

Edit: We weren't using an anti-static wristband or anything, but we did take care to ensure we weren't carrying any static charge when we were working on it.

    Welcome Eroes

Have you gone to the Motherboard's Manufacturer website & download the proper network driver & re-installed it ?

I've tried to re-install the driver, but it can't detect the card. The same thing happens when I try to install the driver for the network card I bought. In the eyes of my computer, they are completely invisible.
