    Wireless card detected but disabled?

    Hey guys.

I'm having a weird problem. I own a HP HDX-18 Notebook, and installed a 64-bit version of Windows 7. Okay, great, it's all going well and I install all the drivers, but there's a problem with the wireless. The wireless card is detected, and the device is working fine (according to good ol' Device Manager), however, the card registers as being disabled. I've ensured the wireless is actually turned on, however when I trouble shoot the problem, it says 'Problems found: wireless capability is turned off - a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken'. the trouble shooter says the problem can be rectified by enabling the wireless through bios, via. the system configuration utility. However, my bios doesn't have such an option...

    can the problem be rectified?

    thanks

For the record - I have tried reinstalling the drivers, no luck. The internet works however through the LAN port, however.

Perhaps try windows vista x64 drivers - or a older release. I recently updated my LAN drivers to INTEL WHQL only to find a dip in performance so I reverted to Win 7 default drivers. My Audio uses Vista drivers - it's worth a try.

The drivers I downloaded for Windows 7 came from the HP website, I downloaded the drivers under the Windows Vista 64-bit section. Still no luck...

What AV / Firewall are you using? Perhaps try disabling them? I had to switch AV / Firewalls as they were blocking my LAN in Win 7
