    Need help with share authentication

I have a computer running Win7 Pro and I'm trying to set up a home network with it. I have a USB external hard drive plugged into it that I've networked. I'm trying to set it up so everyone in the house has their own login and can't view each other's stuff. I tried making a local account for my sister so she can log in with an app on her iPad, but the files are also public on our network. I can get to the folder on my computer without having her login info. What settings do I have to use to assign a profile to a folder? Thanks.

You should be able to turn off public folder sharing by going to the Network and Sharing Center then to Advanced Sharing Settings.

You can also lock down folders by right clicking the folder and choosing Share with "Nobody".

No, that's not the problem at all. I want to create a folder for each person in my house and have them be the only ones able to access them through authentication. So there would be a folder for my dad and there would be credentials for that folder. There would be one for my sister and there would be credentials for that folder. See what I mean? My problem is that I don't know how to create these credentials.

This can be done by following the link below. Go down to the part about sharing with individual Users. :)
