    Background Latency Test

What is a good program to run in the background to gauge my wireless latency? While playing games, I have low ping (20-30 range) and when I run a SpeedTest I also have low ping and my connection speeds are where they should be. However, I suffer considerable and consistent lag spikes while gaming wirelessly. And yes I know it is always better to hardwire while gaming but I'm not playing online shooters or anything. I just need a relatively stable connection.

Hardwired my connection is fine. No spikes.

    Hi all:

I downloaded Wireless Wizard and ran a latency test and have attached the results below. I have also included two results from SpeedTest.

You will notice large ping spikes periodically in both (up to 400 but with an average around 20-30).

Hoping someone can help remedy this. The latency spikes disappear when I hardware but it would be nice to be able to use the wireless I am paying upwards of $80 for.

I'm using an Arris DG860 wireless router.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
