Hello there Bamelas and welcome to the forums!

Can you first fill up your system specs by following the tutorial below?

System Info - See Your System Specs

This will help us solve your problem more easily, thanks!

Thanks for updating your system specs!

Are your wireless drivers updated for your wireless card?

Does your laptop freeze if you connect it to a normal LAN network (via ethernet or wirelessly?)

Just trying to narrow down the problem!

Thank you for your reply . My wireless drivers are all updated and yes I can connect to a wireless network that I have set up for the Internet but I want to have the advantage to connect my laptop with other laptops via lan.My laptop freezes only when I connect to an ad hoc network wirelessly .Thank you in advance again.

Hmmm..... I'm almost stumped here.. one more thing to suggest, have you tried making a wired adhoc network by connecting the laptops together using an ethernet cable instead?

It's quite simple, any Cat 5e or Cat 6 Crossover cable would suffice, and you'd just have to set manual static IPs for both systems in the same subnet and ensure that they're both in the same workgroup if you want SMB file sharing in Windows...

For example Laptop A would have an address of 192.168.1.12, Laptop B would have an address of 192.168.1.13 with the Default gateway being 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask being 255.255.255.0 for both. You can set the preferred DNS server to the same IP as the Default gateways IP as well..

Thank you for your quick reply but I don't think that this could be the solution to my problem because some months ago I was able to connect and create an ad hoc network and everything was ok .But suddenly I got this and I don't know is it a problem of my laptop hardware or my laptop is infected with some kind of virus/trojan/spyware etc.?Thank you.

No virus/malware/trojan that i know of would specifically target only adhoc wifi connections and freeze your laptop like you've mentioned. Malwares that affect network connectivity usually do so globally, i.e. you wouldn't be able to access the internet at all/limited connectivity... because your hosts file would have been rewritten or tampered with for example...

But since you brought it up, have you tried scanning your laptop using anti malware software like Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, just in case?
