Rename Network Connections in Windows 7

Well I still haven't figured it out yet, but apparent i'm not alone...

"Ghost network" serious network adapter bug

How do you rename the default "Network" connection name in Windows 7?? In vista, you could click customize in network and sharing center to rename the network and change the icon, etc. Windows 7 has no such option.... Also, Every time I restart my computer, I automatically get connected to an "unidentified network" public network type, and it says "mixed network". I can't connect to the internet at all when it does that. I have to disable my adapter and re-enable it to correct the problem. Any thoughts ?? It's quite frustrating because it happens on every boot.

Ok, that's how it is now.

How does that look when the problem occurs after boot?

Is it possible that after boot the wireless is trying to connect too?
    Hence mixed mode?

Make a screenshot when the problem is at hand.

Wow thanks. I didn't realize it was that easy. Okay, now that that's fixed. The other thing is still there. When I reboot.. everytime.. it connects me to a "unidentified network" some how.. and i can't do anything when its connected to both networks. no internet at all... looks like this:

i couldn't get the screenshot from my pc, cuz it's not doing that right now.. but on every reboot.. but here's a screenshot i found on google..

We need a screenshot from your computer, so you have to reboot and make the screenshot.

I suspect your situation will be almost the same as this screenshot.
I think you will see both wired and wireless are connected.

If that's the case, just disable your wireless card in Networkcenter.

    screen shots

okay, it can't be my wireless adapter, becuz it's disabled. i just rebooted. here are the shots:

this is before i disable and re-enable my adapter.. no internet

this is after i disable and re-enable my adapter.. everything working good.

this is my network controllers screen..

i can't really figure it out. it just automaticly connects to this unknown network every boot. i wonder if there is maybe a way to disable this network from connecting ?
