I have configured the printer to be visible on the internet!
    It is a switch!

Why visible form the internet? anyone can print on it if he wants. What port did you forward on router to make it work? And udp or tcp port?

It's a web service. So I trace what's going on with the printer... i.e. ink levels, usage tracking and configure network.
What do you mean what port...? I just installed the printer and then gave a static and then added the printer for everyone. It's TCP.

    Anyone else have any clue?

web service... more a local network service. No one from outside can access printer, your pc's. Outside can only access you router. Unless you forward ports on router.

Can you connect the printer directly to a pc (which has errors printing). Now try if it works from that pc without errors.

No clue.... first prove it's a network problem.

Also, the clients are having to troubleshoot the printer quite often when they want to print something.... (the yellow symbol on the printer, right click, troubleshoot)
