Built in Virtual Wifi Windows 7 CMD

Ok so I got some new internet from comcast, and it came with a modem and all, but its not a modem that has a built in router. So my other option is connectify, I had a spare wifi usb adapter lying around. And I used it once before, so I assumed it will work. I started it and it made the hotspot. I connected it with my computer and it will connect but it will not load any webpages. And a yellow exclamation mark popped up where the internet icon should. Its like the SSID was not broadcasting an internet connection. So I got my phone and connected it and it did the exact same thing. So I uninstalled it and did this method

How to Setup Virtual Wifi on Windows 7
    1. Open a command-prompt with administrator privileges.

Click on Start menu, All Programs, Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt, select “Run as administrator”). Type in:

    2. Configure the “hosted” interface:

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Test key=password

This example creates an access-point with an SSID of “Test”,

    3. Configure Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

Open up the networking control panel. Select the interface that currently has Internet connection (like your Ethernet or normal wifi), enable “Sharing”, and then select the special “hosted” interface.

    4. Start it

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

And it started it successfully and this time my computer will stay connected(and no yellow triangle) but its like theres no internet coming through, so it will try to keep loading over and over and nothing. And as for my phone it will connect on spot but it will not load any webpages at all.

I put my IPv4 has automatically get I.P address on both computers.

Or do I have to manually insert an ip address.

Here is a tutorial for setting this up complete with pictures, maybe it will help. The IP assignments should be automatic when it's set up correctly.

You do need to use a certified Windows 7 driver for this because you need to have the Microsoft virtual WiFi miniport adaptor installed for this to work.

You can also try using the connectify software for this.

Thats the process I was talking about in my OP, it will start the connection and I can connect to it. But my devices will act like there is no internet coming through

For example my laptop, it will connect but if I try to go on google, it will keep trying to load and give me an error. Same for my other devices.

I just looked at my adapter settings and it had a manually entered IP in there. I set it to automatic and I restarted my computer let see what happens

Try using the connectify software and make sure the Microsoft virtual wifi miniport is present in Device Manager>Network Adaptors.

Yes the virtual miniport is present....

And one thing I am noticing is that when I check the properties of the adapter.. the Ipv4 changes from automatically get ip to manually set an ip and there will be some of it filled out but the rest is black and it does not match what on the cmd for my comcast ip

You probably have some extra network adaptors installed which are causing problems. You should disable any network adaptor that isn't in use. Post your ipconfig/all as it may help me to spot any other problems.

You might want to try entering the default gateway of the modem 75.66.126.1 where it says Default Gateway in the IPv4 properties window. Manually entering the DNS servers might also help.

If that doesn't work it could be a limitation of your modem so you might try installing a virtual router like in the link below.
