Can't disable my computer from turning off WiFi

I would like disable/uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on my wireless card.

The problem is that it lets me uncheck it, but after rebooting it comes back again.

I have seen posts about this using google, but none of them have been answered.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Thanks

You'll likely need to create an entire power plan of your own.
That's the best way around this.

it's actually what microsoft suggests as well.

But what i was describing was not in the power plan.
It's just a property of the Wireless Card.

If you can do this also under a power plan, I do not know how.

You can see in this tutorial how to access the advanced power plan settings.

Go down to the one for the wireless adaptor settings and set it to maximum performance. That should prevent the adaptor settings from changing.

It's already set to maximum performance. I had a look and nothing to change there.
And yet i still cannot uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

From what I read about this problem it should be working provided that the driver being used is a Windows 7 certified driver so looking around for an updated version of the driver would most likely fix the problem.

You haven't listed your system specs so I can't find the driver for you. :)

Just curious, when you go into Device Manager to do this are you logged on as a standard or administrative user?
