    Wireless connected but no internet

I use a wireless broadband connection. My computer is an Alienware M17XR3 laptop, and I use Windows 7 64. On Saturday morning, my internet still worked fine. On Saturday afternoon, the computer connected to the router, but returned the message 'No internet access'. The problem has persisted since then.

The connection settings are correct, and the device manager states that there is no hardware problem (i.e. all networking-related components are shown with "This device is working properly"). According to information I found online, I tried to reset winsoch with "netsh winsock reset" at the command prompt. This did nothing to fix the problem. I would much appreciate any suggestions as to possible solutions. I know there are other posts on the topic, but I am unsure what might apply to my computer.

    ...and the solution

With some help, I found the solution. The problem was a recent McAfee update that prevented my computer from connecting to the internet. Uninstalling and re-installing McAfee has fixed the problem. A complete walkthrough can be found here:

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update
