Obviously, alter those at your own peril. Good luck.
I think I'll wait for some confirmation. Thanks, though.

What are the repercussions of altering these?

In the meantime, I'm back to googling.

Could you take a screenshot of the list of reg keys at where Captain Zero told you to browse to in regedit? That might gives us a clue to why your new account became a TEMP

This document details how to copy material from a corrupt profile into a new one. Bear in mind, it's for XP, but adapting this to Win7 is relatively straight-forward.

How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile in Windows XP

This one is related to Vista and details solutions for the same problem.

Sure thing. Here it is, Zidane24. Hm. I was born on the 24th. Interesting!

    Hope this helps.

Also, sure. I'm a pretty big fan of MGS. Maybe not the biggest, but try me if you'd like!

    Welcome back otacon

since most of the problems are gone, I would do a backup just in case resolving the temp profile breaks something.

I think a Guru pile on is going to be needed to fix this once and for all. Im going to PM them brb

Otacon - can you try to create another new user account and logon with it? So you have a new account and new profile and let us know if you still are getting the temp profile error.

I wait patiently. Thanks again, Zigzag.

And confirmed, ultraplanet, it's still temporary. The new one works fine, however.
