    Homegroup

    Folks,

I had two computers, A and B, connected via homegroup. This worked perfectly until very recently, when I replaced the CPU and motherboard of PC A and re-installed Win 7.

Now that I created a new homegroup, I can access B's files/media from A. File transfer to and fro works just as fine.

However, A's files take ages to load on B e.g. an image takes a couple of minutes to be displayed, a song keeps buffering all the time, file transfer is nigh impossible..

I also connected a laptop to the homegroup. It can access B's files but has the same problem when it comes to A.

A's ethernet card is onboard Intel 82579V, having latest drivers. The mobo is Asus P8Z77-V Pro, if that's of any help.

Both PCs are on Win 7 x64 and use a wired connection.

I use the same AV and firewall settings as before. The router and its settings are the same as before.

    Would appreciate a solution/workaround.

    Cheers.

have you right clicked on the homegroup title in the navigation pane and selected start the homegroup troubleshooter?

Yes, I did. On both PCs. In both cases, troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem.
