Hey Guys,

Had my desktop PC (Acer Aspire M3970) for about 11 months now, 2 days ago the LAN and wireless network adapters have stopped working. When i troubleshoot the problem it says the network adapters are having problems with their drivers, so I updated them from the Acer website. Still they don't work, I have system restored, Nothing! I went delved further into my adapters settings and it said "windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol to the network adapters" for both of them.

Additional Info:
Running windows home premium 64bit,
BT home hub which other computers can connect to,
Can connect to a network with wireless but says I have "Limited Connectivity"
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller,
Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN card,
-both network adapters have never had any problems before.

Could someone please help, i'm losing my mind as nothing i've tried has worked!

Hey, I had Mcaffee. It uninstalled it, see this thread I posted on another website to see the steps I have already taken, not I haven't yet reformatted so any ideas are wanted. Just please don't repeat any thing said on this forum.

Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what McAfee did to those millions of machines so I don't have a direct fix at this time.

Using the McAfee uninstall tool and or running the McAfee virtual technician are the only procedure's available to fix this problem.

I'm baffled as to why you didn't say you had McAfee installed in the first place when you knew it was the source of the problem.

Mcaffee wasn't the source of the problem as i have removed it along with AVG, Since then i have a had a couple of friends (who know a more about computers than i do) try and help, and they are baffled why my adapters do not work, as my wireless adapter can see the networks but can't connect to any. Its not driver related problems as i have updated the drivers from the Acer website and no change occurred.

The problem is that even if you remove McAfee it leaves behind things that causes this problem to occur. Uninstalled or not McAfee is to blame.

You might try using system restore to fix this problem.
