Which connection is ICS enabled on? ICS should be configured on your USB DSL connection not on the local area connection.

I just wanted to ask the OP to be sure.

Sanoh do you know if public network gets selected by default on the connection that is running ICS? He is not able to change from Public network on his local connection which makes me think this is the one he has ICS configured on.

I think that delbari's screenshot was taken before ICS was set. Reason for unavailability of setting type and name of network is, that delbari didn't set default gateway. Pretty stupid, but this is right. Maybe Microsoft will release some hotfix -))))

yes this screenshot was taken before ICS was set but after setting ICS we have no change (setting type of network is unavailable).
Dear Ultraplanet ICS is setting at USB DSL but IP type in this connection is automatically, change this setting to get static IP (192.168.0.1) cause modem error No 720 when modem attempt to connect
    thanx again friends

sanoh is right..... I couldn't understand what he was saying so I hooked up my laptop and configured ICS to an old xp workstation I have. First try I got nothing. After reviewing settings sanoh is absolutly right the default gateway is not configured.....

This is my settings for my local area connection:

    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.137.1(Preferred)
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0

I went into the properties for my local area connection -
and properties for the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
and entered a default gateway address of 192.168.137.1 and ......

my xp machine connected via a crossover cable was able to access the internet.

That is the solution. You need to configure the default gateway on your local area connection to match it's IP address.

    ipconfig after configuring the gateway

    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.137.1(Preferred)
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.137.1

I still can't change my local area connection - unidentified network from public network - all is working fine after configuring the default gateway.
