FTP Server - unable to connect if screensaver is on

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I tried a search and didn't find a related thread. I have set up the FTP Server on two Windows 7 (Pro 64-bit) boxes via IIS. I have found that if either PC goes to the screensaver, I cannot FTP to that PC. I get "connection timed out." The second I move my mouse or hit the keyboard to get rid of the screensaver, I can immediately connect via FTP again. Neither box has the screensaver password protected. Is there some setting I need to change so that FTP can connect whether the box is logged on, logged off, or has the screensaver up? This PC will eventually serve as the main image to go out to about 300 remote sites with scripts that run overnight and will need access via FTP.

    Thank you!

Hi bigredeo, Welcome to the forums, Do you really need to have a screensaver running ? Screen burn is not so much a problem in this day and age unless you are running very old CRT monitors

Also check the screen saver mode active time setting and see if it correlates with sleep mode.

Thank you - some of our off-site locations ARE possibly using ancient monitors, but I just have it going to a black screen. Have not checked sleep mode, did not realize that would be a possible problem. Our off-site locations are supposed to log off their PCs and leave at the login before they leave for the evening so overnight things such as updates and backups can go through. Will sleep mode affect this as well?

    Thank you.

Any other option besides "disable screensaver"? Some other setting I can change that will still allow an FTP login if the screensaver is on? Because, yes, some of our remote locations DO have CRTs and will continue to do so until all die out. Seems strange that going to a screensaver would not allow a connection. PS the screensaver was set for 10 minutes, sleep did not kick in until 30 minutes, so it is the screensaver - but could be both.
