Changing wifi encryption from WEP to WPA2 in Win7 on Acer laptop

    Yes, that's it - you might have to reboot the router for the changes to take effect.

    Thanks Golden: if I might try your patience a little longer -when I click on the icon in the menu made available by clicking on the little upward arrow on the Task Bar next to the time, it shows 'Other network', presumably as a result of hiding my SSID, but still shows my SSID in the list of networks (together with, for example, the SSIDs of neighbours). What I'm not sure of is: do my neighbours see the same list (including my SSID) or do they see something different?? It would seem odd that as well as seeing 'Other network' they could still see my SSID!
