    Home wireless network connection problem


    Hi guys,

    If you have time to help me solve this problem I would really appreciate it. First off, I have a Samsung NP350V4C notebook with an Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter (currently up-to-date), the system I'm running on is a Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and my router is a TP-Link WR-740n. As of now, I can connect to our router and internet nicely, but this is only possible because I just restarted our router. And probably (100% sure of it), if I restart, reboot, sleep my notebook, or simply press the disconnect button on my wireless connection list, I would have difficulty connecting again. By difficulty I mean, my notebook would continuously try to identify the network, and in between identifications says "no internet access" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it. So, again I have to restart the router just so I could connect my notebook to get wireless connection. Troubleshooting the network (by clicking on the red "X" mark on the network map between the home network and internet) doesn't help either. I also tried the ipconfig /release and /renew... does not help either, it just says media disconnected and such. One thing that amazes me that my notebook can connect to my cousin's home wireless network flawlessly (they are just right next to our house). Anyone have any idea what I'm experiencing right now? I just can't bare the continuous cycle of resetting the router just so I could use the internet on my notebook.

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

    If you netbook has a switch or button to turn the wireless On/Off make sure that it's enabled all the time.

    Other than that, if that's not the case please download, install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector so that we can see if there's any signal issue or interference.
    To run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, double click the Xirrus icon on your Desktop, you may use the Windows 7 snipping tool to crop or Paint by tapping the Print screen key on your keyboard, open up Paint (Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint) then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then save it and please attach the file on your next post.
