DNS Issue, Many Webpages Not Loading

    Hi everyone,

Not quite sure what's going on here. Last night when I tried to get online, it wouldn't connect at all, and in the network and sharing centre it said that the DNS coudn't be found, or something along those lines. Now today, around 50% of the time when I try to access pages, it doesn't work usually getting an error message about how the DNS server couldn't be found, and the rest of the time it's very slow and very rarely without errors. It doesn't matter what browser I use.

I've tried changing my DNS various times and it has no effect. It also makes no difference whether I'm connected wired or by WiFi. Disabling the Microsoft Virtual WiFi doesn't do anything either. My ISP is Linkem, and Italian 4g provider and I use a Huawei BM2023W.

Here are the results of my ipconfig /all.

I'm no expert but sometimes just doing this will help and won't hurt.
reboot your modem, router and PC.

Thanks for the response Layback. I should've added in the original post that I've also tried that a few times now. I've just spoken to a friend who uses the exact same internet service as me and lives one street away and she's not having any issues with her service.

Since you are using a Cell 4G provider I suspect the problem is on there end and or with the 4G connection. Everything in your IPConfig looks fine.

You could try some other DNS servers like 4.4.4.2 and 4.4.4.3 as the ones supplied by your ISP may be Down hung in some way.
You would make that change on the routers setup pages.

It also could be your ISP is just overloaded and the 4G connection you are connected to is down. Where your friend one street away may be closer to the tower or connecting to another Cell tower.

    Thanks edwar.

I've just noticed everything works fine when I go into incognito mode in Google Chrome. That seems really odd to me. I've tried disabling all my extensions but it's not that.

Edit: it seems an extension was indeed the issue. Can anyone think of why? I only had two installed, Adblock and Divx web player. Strange that one of these was slowing down my whole connection and preventing me from loading web pages across several browsers!
