    Thank YOu and a Question

This may be of topic but here it is. First, I recieved a Happy Birthday wish from this forum and I want to Thank you for honoring all of your members on their special days and occaisons. This is the first forum I have been associated with that does this for their members.

I do have a question that may be off topic: I was thinking about upgrading my wireless router and also aquiring a usb wirless jumb dirve to go along with it.
I have subscription with netflix thourgh the Xbox. If I upgraded the router with the wireless usb stick and put the usb stick in our HD TV usb slot would I still be able to access netflix through the wirless usb stick via the wireless router.

Thank you, I again apologize if this is off topic.

Your you thinking about using a Wireless USB stink plugged into the router? That will not work at all. Sorry if I read that wrong.

Not sure the TV can use the USB slot for anything else but displaying picture from a USB thumb drive plugged into that port. Unlike computers TVs may not be able to use the USB slot as anything else. So I doubt that would work. Also NetFlix needs you to Log On to there network, that is what the XBox does. Not sure the TV can do that.

Edware, I the more I thought about it, I agree with you. I went to walmart and while we were shopping I stopped in the electronics Department and spoke with a very knowledgeable person. She suggested to purchase a Roku network streamer. This picks up the signal form your wirless routers and is able to connet to netflix. With the wirelss router located in another room. Thus also allowing you to have the xbox in another room allowing you to play your games and access netfilx. Although I have not connected them up yet I believe this may work after reading all of the material included. Unless I need more help, I think we can consider this sovled. Thank you again for your help.

I suggest looking at alternatives to the roku, it's not exactly he most feature loaded and price difference on these things is not that large. So you can basically look at the whole range of them and generally be in the same price bracket.
