Windows 7: Red X For Network Connections Even When Connected

21 Oct 2012   #11

Windows 7

What I have in the "change Adapter settings" is the following:

Mobile Broadband connection: disabled
Wireless Network connection: enabled (this is what I'm using to connect to our network)
Wireless Network Connection 2: disabled
Wireless Network Connection 3: disabled

That is all that is in there. I have disabled and re-enabled each of the above devices, all to no avail.

Open the Network and Sharing Center>change Adapter Settings

Both adapters should appear there. If the LAN Adapter is enabled then disable it and see if that corrects the issue.

Windows 7 Professional x64, SP1

1. What happens if you enable Wireless connections 2 & 3 as well - so you have all 3 running at same time?
If no change..
2. Disable connections 2 & 3 again with just that primary wireless connection running
If no change..
3. What happens if you enable the Mobile BB connection in conjunction with the primary Wireless connection
If no change..
4. Create a LAN (Ethernet) connection
5. Test enable/disable of that LAN Adapter in connection in conjunction with your primary wireless connection running.
Any change?

Might be the other adapters are showing that x icon. Not the one you are using.
