Default Gateway Not Available -- Intermittent Internet

I own a 2 year old Toshiba Netbook and am having problems with connecting to my university's internet. When connected to the wireless I am constantly disconnected. When I run the troubleshooter it says that the default gate was is not available. It resets my wireless adapter and I can connect for 5-10 minutes before I have to repeat the process. Needless to say this is very frustrating. When I asked my university's tech support they suggested a full system restore. I would rather not have to deal with that. please help

If this is a campus router and you're getting DHCP from them then there's not much i can do for you other then trying to disable your IPV6 to IPV4 tunnel. Also do you know why you're running on a public IP address?

This is a campus router and I believe that I am getting a DHCP from the university. I have seen/read other posts where disabling the tunnels has helped. I'm not sure why I'm running a pubilic IP address. I'm really not that tech savvy. Should I be running something other than a public IP address? and how do I change it?

The only person that could answer that question is the university. My other concern since you're running on the university's router is that in a 255.255.248.0 subnet there is a possibility of 2048 IP address that they can assign. That being said you can only have 1024 IP address on a single subnet.

I would try disabling your tunnel and seeing if that fixes your issue. If it doesn't you will have to talk to the university's networking department since we cant actually access the routers configuration.

If you still want to provide me with the IPconfig /all for when you have network access and when you dont have network access then just post below maybe there will be something more in there.

There is also nothing to show if DHCP is even enabled, no DNS server is showing, in fact there is no reference to a DNS server at all, there is no TCP/IP setting showing either, there is also nothing showing the manufacture of the wireless NIC. A bunch of stuff is completely missing from the ipconfig/all. The IPv6 showing there is about the only normal thing I see there.

It looks as if the entire networking stack has been ripped out of that laptop.

I would think about performing an sfc/scannow by typing that command into an elevated command prompt.

I'm pretty sure it will show problems there. I would post the ipreset file but I don't think it will help in this situation.
