Have windows 7 network with windows 2008 R2 server as file server.. all in same workgroup not domain.
and from one windows 7 pc i get same error when i try to connect to Windows server 2008 R2
Network Error
Windows cannot access \\ComputerName
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.
Error Code: 0x80070035
The Network path was not found
But what is strange that pc can access other windows 7 pcs on network.. only server gives this error and server can be accessed from other pcs..I've checked services, ntebios, tcp ip etc.
i can open server by \\ip_address but not servername i cant even ping by name only ip..
I did everything with windows even reimaging to clean fresh state
i begin to suspect router or switch.. because when i tried and connected laptop to same network port as the problem pc i couldnt connect too.. but i can access all other pcs that connected to same switch as server its so strange.
EDIT: Reinstalling (not reimaging) server with different name helped.. thats very drastic solution but it worked.
