need help for setting a network using dlink 5 port switch.

    hi guys,
i need help trying to make a network with 2 PCs using a dlink 5 port switch.
one of the PC is having a WiFi card as well. i want to create a wired network between PCs and using a straight through cable. even though i disable the WiFi card and assign the static IPs to both system but not able to ping between them. and i want to share internet on other PC through first PC WiFi card.
and both the PCs are on same work group.

am i missing something or doing wrong something and drivers for the cards are installed on both the pc.

    any help appreciated.

Are you using a router anywhere? If so why not just use dhcp.

    Provide ipconfig /all command outputs.

    Open start menu
In seach type cmd, press enter
In command prompt type ipconfig /all

    Do that on each pc.

Back to the old ICS problems again LOL. Get a router for the love of God!

    Modem>Router>Switch>Machines=easy

    Not Modem>Wireless>Machine>Ethernet>Switch>Other Machines= difficult
