    Simple File Sharing Problem

I have a Windows 7 Professional PC and two laptops, one with XP Professional and a new one with Windows 7 Home Premium. There are only two files I share between the PC and the XP laptop, a music file and a photo file. These two are mapped on the XP laptop and have been for some time. Recently picked up the Windows 7 laptop and went to map the same two files without success. It sees the network PC, but does not see the two files I wish to map. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The link below shows many ways to make networking between Windows 7 and XP to work. :)

Thanks...I'll take a look at the suggestions tonight when I get home...problem is not the XP laptop...that reads the shared files from the Windows 7 PC just fine...it is the new Windows 7 Home edition Laptop that is not finding the files

None of these notes solve my issue. All I want to do is map a couple of files I have set up to be shared on my network on a new Windows 7 laptop I just picked up. All things seem setup as they should be and the new laptop can see my PC and when I browse to map the drives it shows My PC\users\Public and \my usrname and all of the folders below those main folders. What it doesn't see is the C: root folders where the shared folders are that I want to map to as I have done on My XP laptop many moons ago. I could just move them to the folders I can see, but I would like to know why I am unable to get to the two files I have designated as shared and I can get to folders that I did not designate,

Well...small change here...opened media player and it can see and shows my music library, but not my pictures...both of which are in the root of my PC. Now I am not sure what is happening. I did not map the folder, but media player sees one of them.
