username/password behaviour

Hi

I would like to know if it is a normal behaviour for windows to ask (if reboot) the username and password for the shared folders on my ubuntu computer.

It seems to forget them at each reboot, could this behaviour be modified ?

Thank you

Usually there is a Check Box on the Username/Password dialog window to Save/Remember the credentials. Are you checking that Check Box?

Username and Password window
My frustration is with the window that pops up when I need to access something that requires a username and/or password. There is grayed out text that appears in each field to tell me what I should be entering there. There are applications such as Linksys routers that don't have a username...
