    New laptop & Internet problem

    Hello.

My father bought a new laptop last few days and the thing is,his laptop
can't connect to our wi fi (home).I feel weird because everyone's laptops
in the house can connect to wi fi and he can't.Does it mean that he need
    to fix something or what?

He owns Acer aspire one happy series and everytime he tries to connect
to the internet,it says "limited connection" but the signal is excellent.Do teach
me what to do because I don't like hearing him being piss.Hehe.

Thanks in advance, friends.Have a good day!

Are you using the righr SSID and passphrase? Can your dads laptop connect to any other public/private network?

Also, have you checked to make sure you have the latest wireless drivers. Does the laptop have all the MS updates, being brand new and all?

Yes and all other networks here need password like us too so as this far,he cannot
connect to the internet at home. But at our shop,he can connect to the internet but using broadband.

I haven't check that yet. It's a new laptop and I assume everything is new inside and
out?hehe.I'll have a check later. He just took his laptop from me while I'm asking about
this matter using my own laptop. Thanks for telling me that

look in the notification area (where the clock is) bottom right and click on the little triangle and see if there is a MS update icon in there. It should be a light blue pastel color. If not then go to start, programs and click on windows update. The just follow the on screen prompts.

Be sure his computer set so that its location is Private or Home? Check in Control Panel > Network and Sharing center. And, in Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Setting, check out the adapter settings (right click on your WiFi/network icon). And, at this point, run diagnose. Last, in Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings, be sure that Turn on Network Discovery is checked. Admittedly, the settings I have alluded to probably are OK since he connects at his workplace.
