    opening a specific port

    Hi,
    Small back story first:

Through my uni halls, the internet provider provides their own tv service (basically identicle to freeview in the UK for chanel choice) this is iptv.

Now with win7 I can't seem to play it, there trouble shooting doesn't include win7 yet but both for xp and vista it talks about opening port 1234.
    How do I do this?
I found a guide on here telling how to access ports but I didn't know where to go after that for a specific.

Any other ideas to try and make it work, if this one doesn't? It worked last year on xp 64bit.

Did you try the Troubleshooting for Window Vista? I assume you are running the builtin Windows Firewall: Open a Port in Windows 7’s Firewall — MAXIMUMpcguides – Windows 7 tips, tricks, help, and how-to guides
