    Xbox lags when on Youtube?

    Hello,
Ive always had this problem that sometimes i will be on youtube and my brother will be playing Xbox and it makes him lag. I have a 1.5mb/s download speed and a .50 upload if that makes any difference. Im thinking about switching ISP'S and getting a 12mb/s connection and was wondering if i get the 12mb/s which is around 8 times the speed, but will it still make him lag?
Im not sure if my download speed even affects this at all but will it make a difference?

    Thank you.

It depends, what do you mean by "Lag"?? As in "the video stops every 5 ~ 10 secs"?? that could be an ISP issue, because you're streaming HD content or any kind of content and your download bandwidth is not enough to do the streaming, so the video stops to buffer itself..

Now, if it isn't that king of "lag" you're describing, then could be another issue which i'm not completely familiar with, could be the xbox, i'm not 100% sure.

Could you elaborate more the "Lag", please?

I mean that if im on youtube when my brother is on Xbox live, he will lag. For example, when hes on Call of Duty and im watching a youtube video, he will start jumping around the map, and shoot randomly, ect.

1.5 is brutal for FPS and most games in general. Too much bandwidth required for xbox360 generation games.((sadly some people dont have the option for higher speeds)).

12 will honestly be plenty. There WILL be some times of lag but wont be nearly as bad. A video will now take 30 seconds for example to load as opposed to 3 minutes. Which means even if it lags it wont be extended.

If you want the best experience purchase a router ((or see if your router already has)) QOS settings. This will allow you to prioritize the XBOX traffic and make sure that your youtube isnt cutting in line and screwing up the matches.

oh and be sure the xbox has an open NAT or DMZ set up for it. You can google those terms and find great step by steps for setting it up. That will help minimize connection issues on the XB.
