Hi,
I am have been scouring the web in an effort to solve my networking woes. Fresh install of Win7 Ultimate on one machine, XP Pro. SP3 on the the other. I can access shares on the XP machine just fine, however, Windows 7 files are not accesible. I can see the Win7 machine, can see the shares, but cannot browse them: "access denied...contact your network admin". There is one folder on the Win7 machine, "Users", that can be accessed and browsed, but it is not part of the shares I am trying to setup. TBH I'm not exactly sure where it came from.
Double, triple, quadruple checked the advance share options, disable passwrod, enable sharing etc...permissions set for Everyone.
I have not set up identical user accounts on each machine. I am not interested in that solution unless i *absolutely* have to do it that way. I don't want multiple accounts. I don't want identical accounts on each machine. I simply want to share, with no login/password, some movies on a spare drive in my desktop PC. I could do it fine on an XP network, but 7 is really ****ing with me.
Can someone Please help me out? I am starting to get quite aggravated by the whole experience.
Thanks for your time,
