    How do i? : OS-Startup configuration with LAN=enabled + WWW=disabled

Hi, I would like to configure my Win7 OS so that it starts with WLAN for my printer, but inhibits the start of www/Internet services.
Problem is (at least for me) that my WLAN-Router handles both. The laptop machine in question is using a dual install config with Win7 and Ubuntu 12.04. I would like to be able to start the Ubuntu OS and have both WLAN and WWW, but the Win7 OS should start without WWW but still be able to access my WLAN-printer. I thought of configuring two separate network profiles but don't know how to configure to start the OS without WWW. If there is a profile available for the OS where WWW is active Win7 apparently automatically starts that profile...

The reason i even want to use Win7 is because the kids are having problems with document conversion in school. Also, my WLAN-printer came with great software, but the software is only for Windows. How is it possible in Win7 to deactivate WWW and directly "talk" to the printer over WLAN?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - including howtos or links. Thanks a lot in advance!!
    mike

You could change your address from dynamic (address assigned by dhcp) to static (manually entered address) and remove the default gateway.

without the default gateway you will not be able to reach the web.

First-off, thx for answering!! And yeah its a wireless laptop. Recently i booted into Win7 on this Win7 / Ubuntu 12.04 dual-boot pc and Win7 auto-updates apparently overwrote my MBR. I had to use a Live-CD Ubuntu to repair the entries in my boot-loader config files. So after that i decided i would disable the automatic update. Did that, but i still have loads of Windows software which are a pain to manually deactivate the incessant inquiries to update. Sometimes its not even (readily) obvious how to do this at all (like with Adobe or that Apple Handshake thing). Not dissing Windows but it is somewhat insolent as to what IT wants in comparison to what you want...at least if you're not a crack :) So my theory was: use Linux for internet ( which is inherently safer) and use Win7 only for Office 2010 & print-services.

Once again thx for answering. Saw your Dutch flag Dank je wel, tot ziens! ik ben amerikaanse, maar ik woon in duitsland vanaf 20 jaar.
