best router

I have Sky Brroadband and a sky router. but they dont seeem to last long,12 month's or so.
i have been lucky that Sky have sent replacements when they have gone, but now i have to pay.
with p/p it's £37 +. i feel sure i can get a better one for not much more ,can anyone advise me .
and are they all compatible with this broadband.

What type of broadband do you have? Fibre? or standard adsl broadband?.

Does the router need to have wireless?.
